How Garage Invoicing Software Works

Garage invoicing software should tie every invoice to the vehicle job — MOT fee, parts, labour and workshop charges — with clear status for staff and optional online payment for customers.

From job card to invoice

In MOTDesk, work often starts on a booking and job card. Line items for MOT, repairs and workshop services can be built on the invoice linked to that job, so you are not retyping registration numbers and customer details.

Estimates and customer approval

After a failed MOT, send a repair estimate link. When the customer accepts, MOTDesk can create the invoice and a Pay Now link if Stripe Connect is set up — keeping approval on record before you start non-MOT work.

VAT, documents and payment methods

Invoices support VAT where configured, attached documents and photos from the job, and status such as draft, sent or paid. Customers can pay online through Stripe Connect, or staff can mark an invoice paid when you take cash or a card machine payment at the counter.
